Maybe you've sorted out several boxes of stuff you no longer need and you'd be glad to get rid of it all? We've got the answer. Wolfords church will take it all off your hands and convert it into much-needed funds to maintain the church. We'll be going to the huge car boot sale in Moreton in September and we're starting to collect stock now. All you have to do is contact one of those named below and we'll arrange to pick up from you, or you can deliver to us yourself if you prefer. Anything saleable will be welcome - china, ornaments, books, garden tools, household goods, toys, pictures, any kind of bric-a-brac, etc, etc. In the past we've even sold elegant fur-trimmed rubber washing up gloves! If your contributions are ready now that's fine, ring us straight away, or if you're intending to have a sort-out during the summer contact us later when you've had time to clear out your loft or garage. We look forward to hearing from you.

COMMMENCEMENT OF UNITED SERVICES IN THE LITTLE WOLFORD VILLAGE HALL There is a long history of Christian worship in The Wolfords, the presence of a priest having been recorded in The Domesday Book of 1086. The Parish Church of St Michael and All Angels, although re-built in 1835, occupies the site of its thirteenth century predecessor. Although the established Church has thus had a presence in The Wolfords for many centuries, Nonconformism has also attracted strong support in our villages. As our Community website (www.warkcom.net/wolfords) records, attempts to establish "a place of religious worship for Protestant Dissenters" in Little Wolford date back to 1800, by which time the Nonconformist community was already being served by a visiting preacher from Stratford. In 1866, a nearby Congregational Church established a "station" in UttIe Wolford, which appears to have been served by an itinerant Village Pastor, followed by the establishment in 1895 of a formal Branch Church. Services were held in a variety of locations, including Tower Farm, the Great Hall of UttIe Wolford Manor and, until the end of the War, in Little Wolford Village Hall. We shall seek to re-establish the tradition of Christian worship in the Village Hall, with a service supported by both the Anglican and the Methodist Churches. We hope to hold services on the third Sunday of each subsequent month, led alternately in the Anglican and the Methodist traditions, but with a preacher from a different denomination. Members of all faiths are welcome.
