We are a small group and warmly welcome new members. The group was formed in 2003 and has enjoyed a considerable success at each production it has undertaken.

S.P.A.T.S. is a small but lively, active and talented group who enjoy theatre to its fullest. We perform one act plays, full length plays, Old time Music Halls and Variety Revues. We have also paricipated in street theatre at Stratford upon Avon for the Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations, performing excerpts from 'Romeo and Juliet and Henry IV.  In addition, we also write and perform our own one act  comedies.

During February until April, the Forty Minute Theatre Group 'tour' local residential and retirement homes with either a one act play or a variety revue. Sometimes, the performers are within  two paces of the audience with the audience and performers at the same level.  At such venues, audience sizes can vary between six and fifty. The ability therefore to adapt is paramount and this provides an exceptional experience to perform live in difficult surroundings. 

In 2007 we were awarded a grant in excess of £8,000 from the National Lottery's AWARDS FOR ALL fund which enabled up to purchase additional stage, sound and lighting equipment.  This will enable the society to perform  with a far higher standard of technical support capability.  We were impressed with the straightforward 'no fuss' application form and would recommend any other community group  in search of funding to apply to them.  

Rehearsals are held every Monday and Thursday at 7:30pm at 'The Other Place', School Avenue , Salford Priors.      

Most members of the Salford Priors Amateur Theatrical Society (S.P.A.T.S.) live within 10 miles radius of Salford Priors but with the longest distance being 35 miles.

We enjoy an active social life (when we are not rehearsing) with quiz and skittles evenings, garden parties  and visits to both professional and amateur theatres.
