THE WOLFORDS COMMUNITY
WE, THE EDITORS SEE THE WEB SITE AS JUST ONE OF THE MANY MEANS OF COMMUNICATION, SUPPLEMENTING THE LINK, THE VILLAGE NOTICE BOARDS AND THE GREAT WOLFORD PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER. In comparison with the other methods of communication, the web site has certain advantages. Inclusion is free!. Copy can be published immediately after writing, unlike information in The Link. Pictures and photographs can be published easily. There is limitless space so there is no constraint on items to be published. Information can be retained on the Site which then gives a picture of the village over a period of time. The web site is available easily to absent villagers and third parties interested in village activities where-ever they may be, . Finally, it is probable that younger villagers will be more likely to participate in a web site than read either the Link or Notice Boards. The down side is, of course, that the identity of viewers is unknown and, unlike The Link or the Parish Council Newsletter in Great Wolford, will not necessarily be available to all households. If you have any suggestions as to what else should appear on the web site, we would be only too pleased to accommodate them.
VISITORS TO THE SITE ARE ASKED TO PARTICIPATE BY VIEWING REGULARLY AND, BETTER STILL, TO CONTRIBUTE ITEMS FOR INCLUSION. THESE CONTRIBUTIONS CAN BE ON ANY TOPIC THAT MIGHT INTEREST VILLAGERS.
