Wasperton: start of today's walk
Peter, Hilary, Gill, Mike with JAW banner

A view over the River Avon:
an encampment and a shelter

The old gate: Peer into the undergrowth
and you can make out a blue metal gate

The Padlocked gate:
1st view, from the ground near the road
Hilary, Mike, Gill, Peter with a questioning banner

The Padlocked gate: 2nd view, from a post near the road. H, M, G and P ask "Why is there a padlocked gate across this Public Footpath?"

The Padlocked gate:
3rd view, from a post near the gate
Hilary, Mike, Gill, Peter with the banner

Close-up of the Padlock:
Mike tried guessing the combination!

This is the way: Hilary, Gill and Mike heading off along the path.
What we'd like is a simple pedestrian gate to the left of the main one so that we can go about our walk without further impediment.

A second view over the river:
Sheep in a field and under a tree,
a church in the distance

Hoorah! After representations to the press and County Council, we now have a stile
we can cross by. It isn't quite to regulations, but it's a great improvement.

A good kissing gate:
Turning off the path at Wasperton,
this one is easier to negotiate.
