First Aid Awareness & Training

~ What we offer ~

Introduction:

The British Red Cross, as part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, helps people in desperate need every day of the year.

All of our work is underpinned by the Fundamental Principles of the Movement, more details about our Principles can be found overleaf.

Every year we train more than 150,000 first aiders, preparing them to cope with accidents and emergencies in the home, at work or out and about.  Why not get skilled up yourself and attend a First Aid course or arrange an awareness session for a group of friends

Please read on for more information on what courses/sessions we are able to offer.

First Aid Awareness

We are able to offer both small and large groups, from young people to adults taster sessions in First Aid awareness.  These sessions can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending upon your needs.

This is the shortest first aid course offered by the British Red Cross. It covers key adult life-saving skills, such as care of unconscious casualty, resuscitation and provides an opportunity to practice your newly acquired skills

Emergency Life Support - 4 hours

This programme provides the opportunity to learn key life-saving skills and gain an awareness of treatment for shock and significant blood loss. This is a very practical course.

Basic First Aid - 7 hours

This programme focuses on key life-saving skills, provides an opportunity to learn the first aid response to the most common accidents and situations, and is underpinned by relevant theory.

In addition to the General module we are able to offer groups the following modules:

It also gives you the opportunity to learn more about common medical conditions and outlines the appropriate treatment for adults, children and babies.

Standard First Aid - 28 hours

This is the most comprehensive first aid training programme the British Red Cross offers to members of the public. In addition to key life saving skills and response to common emergencies, it also deals with common minor injuries and medical conditions.

Participants are given ample opportunity to practice the wide range of skills. Assessments are made throughout the programme on students competence.  There is no final exam on this programme of learning

The answer is probably YES - now what's your question?
