Your PCSOs for Hillside and Rokeby are:-

[PCSO Frances Carty]

Frances Carty

Frances has been a Community Support Officer for seven months and previously worked at Peugeot as a production operative. Before that she was a Nursery Nurse.

When she is not working she likes to relax to a mixture of "RnB" and pop music but still finds the energy to work out at her gym, followed by a refreshing Jacuzzi. She likes to visit members of her large family of 9 sisters, a brother and 30 nephews and nieces, and if there is any time left after that she supports Coventry City Sky-Blues.

Harry Mossop

Harry has been a Community Support Officer for 15 months and is also the Police Community Support Officer for Neighbourhood Watch.

He hails from Whitehaven in Cumbria, a small fishing port with a facinating history that Harry has spent some time studying with interest. He emigrated to South Africa and then to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe today) before returning to the UK and settling in Rugby with his wife and two children.

While in Rugby he was a member of the Royal Signals Territorial Army for 13 years gaining the rank of staff sergent, and was awarded a long service efficiency medal.

His interests are music, computers, digital photography, travel, reading and DIY.

Frances and Harry have joined a rapidly growing team of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) up and down the Country, whose role it is to be the link between the community and the Police. Their job is to patrol our neighbourhood, meeting people and gathering information on community problems such as vandalism, nuisance behaviour, and rowdiness as well as more serious matters like theft ,drugs or violence.

Frances and Harry( who returned to Hillside and Rokeby beat in February after a three month break), will patrol our streets singly or in pairs from 8am to 10pm and by their presence and their training will discourage nuisance behaviour in a friendly and reasoning manner. However if they face a situation that threatens to become violent, they can instantly summon the assistance of police officers by radio.

[Talking to PCSO Frances Carty ]

The Police cannot fight crime on their own. It needs the co-operation of all of us to help keep our streets safe and peaceful, and PCSOs are that vital link between us and the processes of law enforcement, so support your community and support your PCSOs.

If you see Frances or Harry on their patrols, say hello and discuss with them any problems that occur in your area. You never know, you may be able to give them vital information that will lead to a trouble maker being identified and dealt with by the police.
