Knightcote Model Boat Club

KMBC logoKnightcote Model Boat Club was formed in early 2003 by a small group of enthusiasts after a local Knightcote farmer offered to dig them a large pond in his fruit orchard at the rear of his farm buildings.

Once the pond, about a ¼ acre in area, was dug and filled with water, formation of the club was publicised and membership grew very quickly and we now have a steady membership of about 40.

Due to our central location and easy access from Junction 12 of the M40 Motorway, we not only have members from the local area but also as far afield as Earlswood, Daventry, Banbury, and Stratford.

The water is open for use by members from 8a.m. to dusk every day of the year. We have ample free car parking space and a club house with facilities for do-it-yourself coffee and tea making and toilets.

We have two social occasions during the summer, an Open Day and BBQ, and a Sunday Lunch day, and during these events, racing competitions are run for two classes of fast electric boats.

The club allows the sailing of boats powered by sail, steam and electric, but the use of internal combustion engines is not permitted.

The club has a Newsletter which is sent either by email or pigeon post to all members, four times per year.
